MogriChess is chess with one rule changed. When a piece captures, it keeps the moves of whatever it took, for the rest of the game. Your pawn takes a rook, and now it slides the length of the board. Later it takes a bishop, and it slides diagonally too.
Every trade is a gift
A rook isn't worth five here. A piece is worth whatever it has captured, and when it falls, the piece that takes it inherits all of it. Trades hand out upgrades, and the board gets sharper as it empties.
Learn it in minutes
Every piece shows its moves as marks in eight directions: one dot is one square, two dots is two, a bar is all the way. A nine-lesson tutorial on a live board teaches the rest.

Coming from chess?
- Nothing jumps. The knight moves up to two squares in any direction, and can be blocked.
- No castling, no en passant, no two-square pawn opening.
- A pawn on the last rank gains one square of movement in every direction, instead of becoming a queen.
- Kings capture, but never absorb.
